While I have very little interest in the engineering of aeroplanes and boats, my interest takes flight when they are built from timber. Recently, I came across a fascinating video clip about the de Havilland Mosquito. Built for the British military at the beginning of World War II, it was, in 1941, the fastest operational aircraft in the world… and it was built almost entirely from wood!
