In four years, The Wood App website has inspired over 8,500 South African architects, developers, designers, industry retirees, contractors and DIYers to use wood more extensively in the built environment.
Dr Philip Crafford, The Wood App project manager at Stellenbosch University, attributes it to the “relevant, accessible, and practical information it provides on the properties and applications of wood”.
Ten online courses accredited by the SA Institute for Architects are available. Limited in-person workshops are held for architects, engineers, building inspectors, contractors, homeowners, students and entrepreneurs.
