The recent fall of the 25m high, 16m spread, and 1.2 m diameter Quercus cerris (Turkish oak) at Arderne Gardens in Cape Town is a loss for the city and country. Thankfully, the wood from the tree will be repurposed and reused within the gardens, ensuring that it continues contributing to the sustainability of the environment.
