At the European Championship, carpenters are set a challenge to create complex models of roof structures and demonstrate their specialist timber work. A panel of experts then judges the models. The challenge is set the day before, giving competitors 22 hours for everything, from planning through to completion of the model: from Tuesday morning, 5 July, to Thursday evening, 7 July. The judging panel consists of trainers from the European national teams.
